A movement excursion!

My goal for our semester break, to at least climb a mountain! So today, along with Ben, a student from Tufts studying at HIF, we did just that...well technically it was a volcano.

We biked the 16 miles each way to the mountain...there it is!

A view from part way up.

The top (well, at least as far as we were allowed to climb)

Kind of cloudy up top, but a nice breeze!

The evacuation sign along the road for the volcano we just climbed...

We got rained on during our ride home. Ben put on his poncho...I don't think it was designed for cycling because it didn't appear to be very wind efficient...

I biked through many tunnels in Japan. This one had a nice sidewalk so I didn't have to fear for my life.

Our way home was filled with excitement. Like the konbu-kan, or seaweek museum!

Konbu, the artistic form.

This outfit is made out of konbu paper!

These are all of the things that konbu can do for you.

This one was my favorite picture. Although it is touting the dietary benefits of konbu and how it can help you keep fat away, what it really looks like is how it can make you very gassy...

The best part of the konbu-kan...all of the samples! It was awesome!

We continued along down the road and came across some random festival that we stopped at for awhile.

Yep, it was quite the day!
