Day 38: Napoleon to Sandusky: 90 miles

Today was an action packed day on the ride. First of all, it was my birthday. Then we had 90 miles to ride. And we spent the evening at the Cedar Point amusement park. What a great day for a birthday:)

Amy put a note outside my tent for when I woke up:)

One of the first nice sunrises we've seen on the ride.

Our morning line of speed.

This nice family saw our group out riding and set up a cookie and lemonade stand for us. It was much appreciated!

29 again? Actually, it's my first time, but thanks for the sign!

After dinner we went out to go to the park and it was storming, so we gave up on the park and went bowling instead.

Deidre said she hadn't bowled in 2 years, but she was too good to believe that.

Chuck looked super cool bowling in his sunglasses. Actually, he had to wear them because they're prescription and he couldn't see the pins without them.

Pretending to be having fun bowling, even though we'd all rather be riding roller coasters.

We finally made it to Cedar Point. After bowling the weather looked a little better so we decided to go. It was worth it!

High shorts. Always funny.

Our first roller coaster of the evening. I can still hear Deidre screaming...the entire way...it was hillarious!!

Sunset at Cedar Point

Sometimes you have to wonder why people spend money on some things. Like florescent glow in the dark hair...

One of the huge prizes you can win at Cedar Point. It would have made quite the bike ornament!

So when we went to call for a taxi back to the campground, we couldn't get anyone to answer. So Amy went to ask about other places, and Steve, a police officer in town offered to give us a ride home. We were hoping it would be in a squad car so that we could have pictures of us getting "arrested", but we couldn't complain since we were getting a ride. Another thank-you goes out to him for getting us back home!

  1. Evonne -- so glad that you were able to experience Cedar Point -- by far my favorite Roller Coast! I've been following everyday. We just finished RAGBRAI here in Iowa and I can't imagine how much further you've ridden. Congrats and keep pedaling!
